Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the cleaning services and website provided by Lazy Stuffs Inc. ("Lazy Stuffs", "we", "us", "our"), a company incorporated in Nova Scotia, Canada. By booking a service, using our website at lazystuffs.ca, or using our client portal at app.lazystuffs.ca, you ("you", "the Client") agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are and what we do

Lazy Stuffs Inc. provides residential and short-term-rental (Airbnb) cleaning services within Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, including Bedford, Dartmouth and Cole Harbour. We provide residential services only. We do not provide commercial, industrial, post-construction, or biohazard remediation services.

2. Booking and confirmation

A booking made through our website is a request, not a confirmed appointment. Bookings are confirmed only when we send you a written confirmation by email. We may decline any booking request at our discretion, including for reasons of availability, service area, or property condition.

• When you submit a request you will receive an acknowledgement email. This is not a confirmation.
• Once we confirm, you will receive either a secure payment link or, where we have approved pay-later terms, confirmation of your appointment.
• For card bookings, your appointment slot is held until payment is completed. Payment links expire after 24 hours; if a link expires unpaid, the appointment and the reserved time slot are automatically released.

3. Pricing, quotes and taxes

Prices quoted on our website are estimates based on the service type and property size you select, and include Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) at 14%. Our HST registration number is 782932974 RT0001.

Quotes assume a property in a reasonably maintained condition. If, on arrival, the property requires substantially more work than the selected service reflects — for example, excessive clutter, heavy soiling, pet waste, or a property materially larger than described — we will contact you before proceeding. You may approve a revised price, reduce the scope, or cancel. If we cannot reach you, we will clean what we reasonably can within the time booked.

4. Payment

• Card: processed securely by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card details.
• Interac e-Transfer: available for approved pay-later bookings, sent to payments@lazystuffs.com with your invoice number in the memo.
• Payment is due before or on the same day of service completion.
• Overdue balances accrue interest at 2% per month (26.82% per annum), calculated from the due date.
• Recurring maintenance blocks are prepaid in full before the first visit.

5. Access to your property

You are responsible for providing safe, lawful access to the property at the scheduled time. This may be in person, by lockbox, key, smart lock code, or by arrangement with a building concierge. You confirm that you are the owner or occupier of the property, or are otherwise authorised to permit us to enter and perform the services.

If we cannot gain access within 30 minutes of the scheduled start time, the visit is treated as a late cancellation under our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Where you provide us with keys or access codes, we will store them securely and use them solely to perform the services. Keys are returned on request or at the end of our engagement.

6. Your responsibilities

• Secure or remove cash, jewellery, and irreplaceable or high-value items before we arrive.
• Tell us in advance about pets, alarm systems, fragile items, surfaces requiring special care, and any known hazards (for example, mould, pests, structural defects, or recent illness in the home).
• Ensure the property has working electricity, running water and heat.
• Secure pets that may be anxious around unfamiliar people. We may decline to work in a property where a pet presents a safety risk to our staff.
• Disclose in advance if anyone in the property has a known transmissible infection.

If a loss, injury or damage arises because you did not tell us something you were required to disclose under this section — for example a known hazard, an aggressive pet, an unstable or fragile item, or a surface requiring special care — we are not responsible for that loss. This does not apply where the loss was caused by our own negligence, and it does not affect any right you have under the Nova Scotia Consumer Protection Act.

7. What is not included

Unless separately agreed in writing, our services do not include:

• Biohazard, sewage, bodily-fluid, drug-residue or crime-scene cleaning
• Mould remediation, pest infestation treatment, or hoarding clean-up
• Exterior windows above ground level, roofs, gutters, chimneys, or outdoor areas
• Moving or lifting items heavier than approximately 20 kg (44 lb)
• Climbing above a two-step stool
• Laundry on Airbnb turnovers
• Handling, cleaning or storing firearms, illegal substances, or hazardous materials
• Childcare, pet care or pet waste removal

We may decline or stop work in any property where conditions are unsafe, unsanitary beyond the agreed scope, or where our staff are subjected to harassment, discrimination, intoxication-related risk, or threatening behaviour. In such cases the visit is treated as a late cancellation.

8. Recurring maintenance plans

Our recurring plans are prepaid daily blocks of 7, 14 or 30 consecutive days, each consisting of a two-hour maintenance clean per day. Discounted block pricing is offered in exchange for the full block being purchased and prepaid in advance.

• Visits are scheduled on consecutive calendar days beginning on your chosen start date.
• Plans are for a single property and are not transferable without our written consent.
• Missed visits caused by lack of access are not rescheduled or refunded (see section 5).
• Cancellation of a plan mid-block is governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

9. Satisfaction and re-clean

We want you to be happy with the work. Please inspect the property and report any concerns within 24 hours of service completion, by email to operations@lazystuffs.com or by calling 902-403-6863. Where a concern is reported within that window and is reasonably attributable to our work, we will return and re-clean the affected areas at no charge. Re-cleaning is our primary remedy for dissatisfaction.

10. Damage, loss and insurance

We carry commercial general liability insurance. If we damage your property in the course of performing the services, report it within 24 hours of service completion with photographs where possible. We will investigate and, where we are responsible, arrange repair, replacement or reimbursement at our option.

We are not responsible for:

• Pre-existing damage, wear, or defects, whether or not previously noticed
• Damage arising from items that were already broken, loose, unstable, improperly installed, or of a fragile nature not disclosed to us
• Deterioration of surfaces, finishes or materials that were already failing, or that react adversely to standard cleaning products despite reasonable care
• Items not reported within the 24-hour window in section 9
• Loss or damage caused by third parties with access to the property

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to any service, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim, or (b) the amount recoverable under our applicable insurance policy.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profit, revenue, rental income, data, or business opportunity.

12. Non-solicitation of staff

Our cleaners are trained, screened and insured by us. For twelve (12) months following your last service, you agree not to directly or indirectly employ or engage any Lazy Stuffs cleaner outside of our services. This protects the investment we make in our team. If you wish to hire a member of our staff directly, contact us to discuss a release.

13. Dispute resolution and governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Before commencing any proceeding, you agree to first contact us at operations@lazystuffs.com and allow us thirty (30) days to attempt to resolve the matter in good faith. Any dispute not resolved informally may be brought in the courts of Nova Scotia, and the parties attorn to the jurisdiction of those courts. This does not limit your right to bring a claim in Small Claims Court or to complain to any regulator.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you book governs that booking. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and where practical we will notify recurring-plan clients by email.

15. General

• Severability: if any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder continues in force.
• Entire agreement: these Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund & Cancellation Policy, form the whole agreement between us regarding the services.
• Assignment: you may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent.
• Force majeure: neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond reasonable control, including severe weather, power failure, public health orders or civil emergency. We will reschedule affected visits or refund the affected amount.
